KUCHING: Sarawak has recorded four fatalities comprising two from Sibu and one each from Bintulu and Miri.
This brings the death tally to 73.
A 40-year-old local man who was Case 4,541 was treated at Miri Hospital after experiencing lethargy and palpitations a few days before.
His rT-PCR came back positive on Feb 1, but his health deteriorated. He was pronounced dead on Feb 19.
The deceased had high blood pressure, diabetes, and end-stage renal disease (ESRF).
The second fatality was Case 5,514 — a 45 year-old local man who was referred from a private hospital to Bintulu Hospital due to experiencing shortness of breath.
He also had a fever and his rT-PCR test came back positive on Feb 6.
His health deteriorated and was pronounced dead on Feb 19. He had ESRF and high blood pressure.
The third fatality was Case 5,911 — a local 58-year-old man who was treated at Sibu Hospital. He was experiencing symptoms of cough and fever and his rT-PCR test screen came back positive on Feb 9.
His health deteriorated and was pronounced dead on Feb 19. The deceased had high blood pressure, diabetes, and chronic kidney disease.
Case 2,086 was a local woman aged 77 who was treated at Sibu Hospital due to shortness of breath and her rT-PCR came back positive on Jan 16.
Her health deteriorated and was pronounced dead on Feb 20. She had high blood pressure and dyslipidaemia.
