KUCHING: An Indonesian couple suspected of killing and burying their two-day-old baby alive in 2013 will know their fate on March 3.
A panel of Federal Court judges led by Tun Tengku Maimum Tuan Mat, Datuk Seri Haji Mohd Zawawi Salleh and Datuk Harmindar Singh Dhaliwal, set the appeal for that date as they still need time to examine the decision on the case.
Both first accused, Soha Beta, 41, and second accused Herna Molla, 33, were found guilty of killing their baby boy at 3.30pm on Nov 26, 2013.
It is understood that Soha is the brother-in-law of Herna.
They are suspected of burying their baby alive on the hillside near Jalan Ladang in Suai, Batu Niah in Miri.
Represented by lawyer Ranbir Singh Sangha, they were convicted under Section 302 of the Penal Code and were sentenced to death by the High Court on January 29.
