KUCHING: Several ministers and assistant ministers from the Sarawak Cabinet were inoculated with the Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine at the Sarawak Heart Centre in Kota Samarahan on Friday.
Among them were Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas; Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah; Minister in the Chief Minister’s Office (Integrity and Ombudsman) Datuk Talib Zulpilip; Assistant Minister of Women, Family and Childhood Development Datuk Rosey Yunus, and others.
This is an effort to break the chain of Covid-19 transmissions and enhance protection against Covid-19, especially as these leaders are often on the ground to carry out their duties and serve the people well.
Sarawak’s Covid-19 Immunisation Programme began its rollout just recently on Feb 26, with the first phase involving frontliners.
Members of the public are urged to register for the vaccine via the MySejahtera application or at the nearest hospital, health clinic, or district office.
