BINTULU: Samalaju assemblyman Majang Renggi recently visited Rh Galau, Sg Telong, Suai on the Bintulu-Miri Road, which is about 90km from here. During the meet-the-leader session with the longhouse folks, Majang urged the Village Security and Development Committee (JKKK) to work closely with the government in order to bring maximum benefits to the community.
He also reminded them to approach and consult the relevant government agencies or bodies before embarking on any project to avoid wastage of effort.
“We are blessed with land which will be able to give us good returns if we cultivate it systematically.
It will not give us anything if it was to be left idle. “If we make use of our land properly, I am confident that it will bring about socio-economic changes to the rural communities,” he added. Earlier on, Tuai Rumah Galau urged his anebiaks (longhouse folks) to work together and give their full support to the government.
“You must be able to exchange ideas and share the latest information and technology with other rural communities. “This gathering also provides an opportunity for us to interact with our leader as well as representatives from the relevant government departments and agencies,” said Galau.
