MIRI: Two men were arrested after they snatched a woman’s handbag at a restaurant at Marina Square last Thursday morning (April 1).
The incident happened around 8.25am when the victim, 28, was having breakfast with her two colleagues and her handbag was on a chair near the table.
The two men, who were on a motorcycle, stopped in front of the restaurant where one of them got off and snatched the victim’s handbag.
According to witnesses, the victim is said to have reached for handbag to prevent the man from snatching it but the thief was too fast for her. The snatch thieves sped off after the incident.

Among the items in the handbag were a purse containing personal documents, cash amounting to RM100, four pen drives, two sets of car keys, an earphone, a charger adapter, a bottle of perfume, two lipsticks and a hand sanitizer.
“Following a report lodged by the victim, a CID team managed to arrest the suspects at Jalan Pujut and Jalan Merpati.
“Both suspects, aged 25 and 31, were brought to the police station for further action,” he said.
During interrogations, they confessed to the crime.
