KUCHING: The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) has decided to enforce an enhanced movement control order (EMCO) on Kampung Serpan Laut, Asajaya and the Sri Aman prison and staff quarters, Sri Aman.
“This directive is effective from Apr 8 to Apr 21,” SDMC said in a statement today.
SDMC said this decision followed risk assessment with various agencies on localities where cases had increased sharply.
The committee also announced that the EMCO at Kampung Batu Gong, Siburan, Serian would be extended starting April 10 to 23.
“The Health Ministry confirmed that there is still an outbreak of infections as well as new cases detected among the community in this locality.”
Meanwhile, the EMCO imposed at Kampung Chupak, Siburan, Serian will end as scheduled on Friday (Apr 9).
