KUCHING: Sarawak squad former main goalkeeper 2015-2016 session, Iqbal Suhaimi is one of the new goalkeeper candidates who are currently being tested in Sarawak’s current squad training camp.
In addition to another goalkeeper who had played in Melaka United this season, Mohd Firdaus Muhamad. Sarawak head coach, Ian Andrew Gillan said the two goalkeepers would be assessed for their skills during the Sarawak squad training session.
“Both of them (Iqbal Suhaili and Mohd Firdaus) will be evaluating on their skills during the training,” said Ian recently. According to Ian, the Sarawak squad need a goalkeeper at this time because with these two candidates it might be advantageous for him to absorb one of them to strengthen the squad to face the Premier League’s 2018 campaign.
Some of the other players from the Peninsular who also attended the training session were Mohd Sabree Mat Abu and Muhd Muzamir Abdul Hadi. The list also included another new player of Malaysian-Australian origin, Shazalee Ramlee who is also a former player of Pulau Pinang this season.
