KUCHING: Sarawak Kuching Polytechnic (PKS) today received a visit from the state Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Research (MESTR).

The delegation from MESTR was led by Workforce Development Division head Dr Asmah Othman and also accompanied by Khaninah Ariff and Halina Haron Abdillah.

The purpose of the visit was to organised a programme with PKS to improve students’ soft and technical skills to empower technical and vocational education and training (TVET) graduates in Sarawak.

Among the programmes proposed are leadership programmes, skills upgrading programmes as well as the cultivating of research and innovation.

Also present during the visit were PKS director Jamaliah Ahmad, PKS deputy director (Academic) Samsudin Mohd Saleh and PKS head of Corporate, Industrial Services and Employability Centre Khalid Husseine Tuah.
