MIRI: State Transport Minister and Senadin assemblyman Datuk Lee Kim Shin today conducted a site inspection on the drainage project at Tudan Desaras 6(B) alongside Drainage and Irrigation Department (DID) Miri.

The drainage project which began on March 17 is scheduled to be completed on July 16.

“The concrete drainage project that measures 80 metres long and 1.5 metres involved an allocation of RM100,000 from the rural transformation programme (RTP) for the Senadin constituency.

“An additional amount of RM150,000 has been allocated for bigger concrete drainage projects within the locality.

“The upgrading of the drainage system at Tudan Desaras 6 is expected to solve the flash flood problem in the area,” said Lee today.

He added that he had also discussed with the DID engineers on implementing additional projects to connect the soil drainage to the nearby river as an effort to overcome the flood problem.

Also present during the site inspection was DID Miri assistant civil engineer Umu Masitah Mahari.
