KUCHING: A delegation from the State Forestry Department led by its director yesterday paid a courtesy call on the Ministry of Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development (KWKPK) permanent secretary Dr Rashidah Bolhassan.
The visit was done to promote and introduce the Forest Landscape Restoration Programme which is being implemented by the department. At the same it was meant to highlight various issues related to environmental sustainability as well as current issues related to both agencies.
The department’s director Datuk Hamden Mohammad had also invited the ministry and the agencies under it to participate in the programme through the tree planting campaign.
Also present during the visit was the department’s deputy director (Forest Conservation and Development) Jack Liam; Forestry Forests, Restoration, and Industrial Forest Division assistant director Zarina Shebli and Forestry Corporate and Media Unit head Mohd Saiful Amrie Abdullah as well as KWKPK principal assistant secretary Datin Siti Ramah Shariff.
