MIRI: The authority had to temporarily close Sekolah Kebangsaan (S K) Sungai Kelabit in Miri, after flood water inundated its compound. The State Disaster Management Committee yesterday said that the affected surroundings included the school field, teacher’s quarters, generator shed and preschool.
The path to the school which has a population of 19 pupils, seven teachers and two administrative staff was also risky to use, it said in a statement.
It said four other schools, SK Kuala Kenyana, SK Kuala Bok, SK Sungai Bong and SK Sungai Anak were also affected by flood but able to operate.
