MIRI: Furious that his demand for money was turned down, a man went berserk and threatened to hurt his younger brother with a parang (machete) in an incident at Taman Tunku here, recently.
In the 10am incident, the suspect took a parang (machete) after his younger brother refused to give the RM50 that he demanded. According to a source, the suspect was later arrested by the police following a report lodged by his younger brother.
“According to a report lodged by the younger brother, the suspect regularly demanded for money and would went berserk when his demand was not met,” said the source.
The source added that prior to the incident the suspect had stolen their mother’s jewelries and sold them to buy drugs. The suspect has been charged in court here under Section 506 of the Penal Code.
