KUCHING: Sarawak has recorded five new Covid-19 deaths today (June 4), bringing the state’s toll to 316.
Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said that one death each was reported in Kuching, Sri Aman and Miri, and two were in Sibu.
The 312th death, Case 49,184, is a 56-year-old local man who was found unconscious at home by his family members and was lifeless when the medical team arrived at his house. He was confirmed dead on May 31.
The case was taken to the Sri Aman Hospital and a reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (rT-PCR) test was done on June 1and the result came back positive. The man had hypertension, dyslipidemia and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
As for the 313th death, Case 49,097 is a 49-year-old local man who was also found unconscious at home by family members and was lifeless when the medical team arrived at his house. The case was confirmed dead on June 1.
A rT-PCR test was done on June 2 and was confirmed positive for Covid-19. The case had liver disease.
The 314th death, Case 46,886, is a 69-year-old local man who was referred to Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) after his rT-PCR test done at a private hospital on Monday 29 tested positive.
The case had experienced symptoms such as loss of appetite and body fatigue for the past two days. The man’s health condition deteriorated and he was confirmed dead on June 3. He had hypertension, dyslipidemia and heart disease.
The 315th death, Case 39,644, is a 43-year-old local man who received treatment at Sibu Hospital after experiencing shortness of breath. The case had fever, cough and breathing difficulty four days before.
A rT-PCR rest was done on May 19 and was found positive. His health deteriorated and he was confirmed dead on June 3. He had gout.
The 316th death, Case 42,515, is a 49-year-old local man who received treatment at Miri Hospital after experiencing shortness of breath.
The case started to experience symptoms of coughing, fever and breathing difficulty three days before. A rT-PCR test was done on May 22 and he tested positive. His condition deteriorated and he was confirmed dead on June 3. He had comorbidities of obesity.
