KUCHING: Padawan narcotics police arrested five individuals and seized various types of drugs worth RM1,900 in a house at Jalan Kong Phin, Mile 4 here on Friday (June 4).
The suspects, comprising three women and two men, aged between 18 and 31, were nabbed around 1 pm.
Padawan deputy police chief DSP Lim Jaw Shyong, who confirmed the arrests, said among the seized drugs were 2.53g of ketamine and 25 ecstasy pills, weighing 10.58g.
“The suspects and the drugs were taken to Padawan narcotics office for further action.
“Background checks found that three of the suspects have drug-related records,” he said, adding that all of them tested positive for drugs.
Investigations found that the men admitted to owning the drugs, and the women admitted to having gone to the house and use the drugs.
Lim added that one of them said he obtained the drug supply from a woman known as Ongai via bank-in.
All five suspects are now remanded until Wednesday (June 9) to facilitate investigations under Sections 39A (1), 12(2) and 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
