KUCHING:The distribution of food aid to the needy in Marudi commenced on Sunday, involving a total of 2,197 doors, said Marudi assemblyman Datuk Dr Penguang Manggil.
The Assistant Minister of Local Government and Housing said the distribution of the food aid under the Sarawakku Sayang Special Assistance (BKSS) 6.0 package was participated by the District Officer as well as Marudi community leaders and village chiefs.
“It is hoped that this food aid can ease the burden of the recipients,” he said in a Facebook post on Monday.
“I have also advised that the distribution should be done regardless of political views and it must reach those who need it,” added Penguang.
The state government has provided a total of RM35.5 million under the BKSS 6.0 package to provide food aid to the needy during the movement control order.
