PADAWAN: Mambong assemblyman Datuk Dr Jerip Susil’s private clinic will be a Covid-19 vaccination centre (PPV) to speed up the vaccination process in his constituency.

“We receive the approval yesterday (Tuesday) and now we are waiting for the standard operating procedure  (SOP) guidelines for the process,” he said at the food distribution under the Sarawakku Sayang Special Assistance (BKSS) 6.0 package at Padawan Sub-District Office on Wednesday (June 9).

“Other than that, we will also have to wait for all facilities to be ready and staff made available, including preparing the right refrigerator to store the vaccines.”

Besides his clinic, he said two other venues would serve as PPV – the Siburan Community Hall and the Braang Bayur Health Clinic, Padawan.

Dr Jerip said a medical team would check the clinic and the people would be informed of the PPV through an outreach programme.

“I will also be going to the kampung and making sure that they (villagers) get the vaccines. They do not need to travel so far from home.”

Dr Jerip said private clinics were only allowed to vaccinate 30 people a day, but he wanted to vaccinate more than 50 a day.

“I want to speed up the vaccination process. I will be doing the injection of the vaccines.”

Dr Jerip said vaccination would be on a first come, first served basis, and appointment cards would be given to avoid overcrowding.
