SIBU: A vegetable trader was killed after she had apparently lost control of her vehicle and crashed it into a road divider along Jalan Sibu-Bintulu on Friday (June 11).

The incident happened around 7am when the victim identified as Sima Danna, 63, was heading towards the Sibu-Bintulu roundabout.

Sarawak Traffic Police chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu who confirmed the fatal incident, said she is believed to have lost control of her vehicle and crashed into the road divider.

“As a result of the crash, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

“Her body was taken to Sibu Hospital for further action,” he said.

He added that the case was being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
