SERIAN: The vaccination centre (PPV) at the Siburan community hall is expected to vaccinate more than 1,000 people daily to speed up the vaccination process towards achieving herd immunity.
The opening of the centre in Siburan today (June 12) received good response from the local community as they do not need to go far for vaccination.
“The new vaccination centre here is not only for communities in Siburan, but those from the Padawan and Penrissen areas can also receive their vaccines here,” said Mambong assemblyman Datuk Dr Jerip Susil.
Dr Jerip, who is also Transport Assistant Minister, was at the centre to check on its operation today. He was accompanied by Serian Division Resident Tuah Suni.
“The place is really organised and works have gone smoothly, thanks to the effort of the health workers and also the volunteers,” he said.
Dr Jerip said there were three other PPVs in Serian Division – Tebedu, Tebakang and Balai Ringin that also began operation today.
He urged residents in these areas to register for the vaccination using the MySejahtera application or through the village chief and community leaders or the Serian Resident Office.
Meanwhile, Siburan Community Hall PPV chief Dr Diana Law said the centre does not accept walk-in appointments as the vaccines are allocated based on individuals who have registered.
Therefore, she said, those who want to be vaccinated should register through MySejahtera application or their respective tribal leaders or at the nearest health clinic.
