MIRI: This division has started vaccinating lorry drivers from transportation and logistics companies.

This is to ensure that they can pass through Brunei while delivering essential goods to Limbang and Lawas.

Today, 100 lorry drivers and co-drivers were inoculated at a vaccination centre (PPV) in the  Dato Permaisuri community hall.

“The vaccinating process (of lorry drivers and accompanying personnel) was made following an announcement on May 31 made by the Brunei government’s guidelines to enter the country,” said Lee, who is minister in-charge of Miri Division Disaster Management Committee (DDMC), after visiting the PPV.

According to the new guidelines, all foreign based transporters entering Brunei must produce their Covid-19 vaccination certificate together with the necessary cross country permit before they are allowed to enter Brunei to deliver essential goods.

Transport companies were given a grace period between June 1 and July 12 this year  to get their drivers vaccinated before the deadline on July 13.
