KUCHING: Balai Ringin assemblyman Datuk Snowdan Lawan said 4,720 households in Balai Ringin had received food aid under the Sarawakku Sayang Special Assistance Package 6.0 (BKSS 6.0).

“Everyone is affected by the extended movement control order (MCO) and as such, every household will receive the aid,” he said when contacted by New Sarawak Tribune on Sunday (June 13).

The Youth and Sports Assistant Minister added that the state government understood the hardships of the community due to the current restriction.

“We want to ensure no household is left out from the food aid,” he added.

He said volunteers from Balai Ringin service centre, tuai rumah and respective village committees were helping to distribute the aid.

“For rural folk in the interior areas, namely Kampung Mentu, Kampung Muding and Kampung Tuba (415 households), a helicopter was used to expedite delivery due to distance,” explained Snowdan

He added lorries also helped to speed up the delivery of the aid to locations in the Balai Ringin Constituency.
