MUKAH: The establishment of the third vaccination centre (PPV) here at the Bukut Health Clinic as part of an outreach campaign shows that the community in remote areas is also given priority in the country’s vaccination programme.
The health clinic in Jalan Selangau will help speed up the immunisation process in this district, particularly in areas with longhouses.
Village headman Richard Empaling expressed his delight and urged residents to register for the vaccine as soon as possible. “Act wisely, register for the vaccine.”
Meanwhile, longhouse chief Kilan Puak hoped that the government’s efforts to raise the number of PPVs would encourage more to get vaccinated.
“Once operational, this health facility will bring significant relief to the community in this area, who previously had to commute to Mukah Hospital,” he told Mukah District Information Department (JaPen) in an interview.
The Mukah District Office and the Mukah Division Health Office conducted a gotong-royong (communal work) programme there that was also participated by various other agencies such as the Mukah District JaPen, Selangau Fire and Rescue Department, Dalat and Mukah District Council.
