BINTULU: A total 29 people were compounded for violating the movement control order standard operating procedures (SOPs) on Saturday (Jul 3).

Among the offences committed were failure to register personal details via the MySejahtera app (five); not wearing face mask (two), being outside after 8pm (13) and loitering (nine).

These compounds were issued by the police during a four-hour operation which commenced from 12.52am until 4.30am on Saturday (Jul 3) around Bintulu town.

Bintulu police chief Supt Zulkipli Suhaili said all the compounds were issued under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures in Local Infected Areas) Regulations 2021.

“The SOP violators are aged between 17 and 51 years old,” he added when contacted on Sunday (Jul 4).
