KUCHING: One rental room, one village, and five more longhouses have been placed under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO).
The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said today the EMCO was enforced on the rental room Happy Café, Berjaya Commercial Centre in Bintulu district from July 5 to July 18.
“The EMCO has also been enforced at Rumah (Rh) Nugu, Kerubong Selalang in Sarikei district and Rh Lidom, Nanga Enseluai in Julau district from July 6 to July 22.
“Kampung Mambong in Kuching district; Rh Anita, Balai Badak, Kampung Klampai and Rh Abing, Lubuk Kerikap, Sebetan both located in Saratok district will undergo EMCO from July 7 until July 20.
“However, Rh Luing, Sg Pama Gerugu Nyelong in Sarikei district will also start its EMCO on a similar date but will end on July 23,” said the SDMC.
The committee also declared the extension of the EMCO at Kampung Po Ai in the Sri Aman district until July 13.
Meanwhile, the SDMC also announced the end of the EMCO at 14 localities today (July 6).
The 14 localities included eight longhouses at Bintulu, Tatau, Sarikei, and Sri Aman districts.
The said longhouses are Rh Sebat Agang, KM5, Jalan Samarakan, Ulu Segan in Bintulu district; Rh Edwin Engkulau Jelani, Nanga Belungai in Tatau district; and Rh. Jawa, Sungai Selangan in Sarikei district.
The other longhouses that ended its EMCO are in Sri Aman district namely Rh Jampang, Kampung Munggu Sawa, Lingga; Rh Wilson Bana, Kampung Po Ai; Rh Mara, Gran C, Tanjung Bijat; Rh Andrew, Kampung Nanga San; and Rh Darwin, Kampung San Demam.
The committee added that one rental house and one rental room in Bintulu —Beverly Hills rental house and the rental room above Kedai Hii Auto Service Centre, Medan Jaya — had also ended their EMCO.
Furthermore, it also declared the end of the EMCO at two workers’ quarters at Bintulu namely Kuarters Ling Hock Transport Sdn Bhd and Kuarters Union Engineering (Signa Jaya).
“Two villages, Kampung Sadong Jaya Laut in Asajaya district as well as Kampung Gawang in Simunjan district had also ended their EMCO on July 6,” it said.
