KUCHING: CS Supermarket Serian today presented food baskets to the law enforcement and frontline workers of the Serian District Council (MDS).
Group operations manager of CS Supermarket, Nicholas Lim Kui Kheng handed over the food aid to the secretary of the Serian District Council, Constantine Gerald David Jonas.
Constantine praised the supermarket and Councillor Leong Pit Wee for the aid.
“It will be beneficial to MDS law enforcement and public health officers, especially those who had been monitoring compliance with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) since last year.
“CS Supermarket has also played a role in ensuring that its employees and customers comply with the SOPs during this pandemic,” he said.
He also reminded the public to constantly follow the SOPs issued by the Sarawak State Disaster Management Committee to curb the spread of the Covid-19 virus.
Leong explained that he initiated the assistance with CS Supermarket to recognise the contributions of law enforcement and public health officers who worked during the Covid-19 pandemic.
“It is a token of appreciation for them. We hope others will follow our example and continue to assist and cooperate with the law enforcement and public health officers, particularly in the Serian district.”
Group operations manager of CS Supermarket Nicholas Lim Kui said CS Supermarket would distribute the food baskets at 2pm from July 5 until July 12, with 30 food baskets per day.
“We are using the “first come, first served” method because of the limited number of food baskets.
“Priority will be given to those who need the food aid. They can pick up the food baskets at the scheduled time at the supermarket,” he explained.
