PADAWAN: A nude motorcyclist was detained after he attempted to run through a roadblock at Jalan Batu Kawa on Friday (July 9).
The incident happened around 9.35am when the 28-year-old suspect, believed to be mentally ill, was riding his motorcycle in the nude.
District deputy police chief DSP Lim Jaw Shyong said the suspect was detained for inspections at a roadblock.
“The suspect acted aggressively and attempted to run down one of the personnel manning the roadblock.
“However, the team quickly foiled his act by kicking the front tyre of the motorcycle and caused the suspect to fall off the machine,” he said, adding that the man sustained injuries on his right hand.
Initial examinations found that the suspect was intoxicated.
Lim added that the man was later taken to Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) by an ambulance for treatment.
According to the suspect’s family, he has mental problems.
The case is being investigated under Section 186 of the Penal Code for obstructing civil servants from performing their duties.
