KOTA SAMARAHAN: Recipients of the 200 food packs from the Community Pantry programme at LePaPa Hypermarket Kota Samarahan were happy to get their food packs to get the Covid-19 pandemic.
The programme is a social development programme of Kota Samarahan Municipal Council (MPKS) to assist those in need due to the movement control order (MCO), which was organised by the programme’s organising chairman Datuk Sim Kiang Chiok.
Some few of the aid recipients, who have been badly affected by the MCO have expressed their gratitude and have good things to say about the programme.
Their burdens have been lessened and they will have the energy and time to come up with survival plans for the next few days.

This programme helped me a lot. I worked but had to take a part-time job only because of the current Covid-19 situation. I used to work full-time. In a week I was only told to work for three days. That’s why my income was affected.

I came to take the food pack on behalf of my elderly father. This will help our family a little bit as my parents are not working. I have five siblings and we are all still in school.

I work as a security guard but due to the MCO, my income is slightly affected. I have no overtime pay. Still, I thank those who organise this programme to help people in need.

After finishing school, I planned to find a job, but the pandemic hit and then my plan didn’t work. This programme will allow people who lost their jobs get some help for a while.
