KUCHING: Some 35 lecturers and academicians will give lectures on their respective fields of expertise in an inaugural leadership programme organised by The Sarawak Initiatives (TSI).
TSI will launch the programme on July 22. TSI is a registered non-governmental organisation based here, advocating quality education, clean living environment, healthy economy, personal integrity and Sarawak Identity.
So far, over 200 Sarawakians have registered for the programme that would feature a series of lectures until next March.
The first lecture will be delivered by Prof Dr James Chin of the Asia Institute of the University of Tasmania, Australia at 2.30pm. His subject is Past, Present, and Future of Sarawak.
This will be followed by a lecture on The Special Position of Sabah and Sarawak under the Federal Constitution by Prof Dr Shad Saleem Faruqi at 2.30pm on July 24.
Former state attorney-general Datuk Seri J.C. Fong will deliver his lecture on Overriding Effects of Emergency Laws over the Federal and State Constitutions at 2.30pm on July 31.
TSI will release further information from time to time via its website on the dates and titles and any changes to the schedule of lectures.
Participants will be informed in advance of the dates of each lecture.
