MUKAH: Food aid was given to 150 Muslim convert families by Politeknik Mukah (PMU) through its welfare programme Program Bah Pebagi Rezeki.

It was organised by PMU in collaboration with Unit Jemelai Mukah Peduli (UJMP) from Kampung Tutus Hilir.

Of the total, 35 families were from Kampung Seri Tellian (Tellian Tengah) and Kampung Tellian Daya (Tellian Ulu), Kampung Penat (30), Kampung Sau (25), Kampung Litong (25) and Kampung Judan (30).

Food aid was also delivered to five families who could not attend the distribution process at the respective villages’ multipurpose halls recently.

PMU deputy director (academic) Mohd Sani Said and Harusani Abdullah from UJPM handed over the contributions to the representatives of the recipients.

Programme director Mohd Ramli Ali said the contributions were derived from personal donations from existing and former PMU fraternity, as well as members of UJMP.

“We try to get contributions from caring individuals from time to time, and at the same time, ensure that the villagers’ profile be updated periodically to facilitate distribution of aid.”
