KUCHING: The State Health Department on Tuesday (Aug 3) declared three new Covid-19 clusters, namely, the Pasar Stutong 2 cluster in Kuching, the Mega Suai cluster in Subis and the Jalan Kemena Industry Estate 38 cluster in Bintulu.
The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said the Pasar Stutong 2 cluster in the Kuching district was a market cluster involving a large community market located at Jalan Stutong, Tabuan Jaya.
Of the 140 individuals, who were screened, 51 including the index case were confirmed while 89 were negative.
All positive cases have been admitted to the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) and low-risk Covid-19 quarantine and treatment centre (PKRC) in the Kuching district for treatment and isolation.
The committee added that the Mega Suai cluster in the Subis district was a workplace cluster detected at a palm oil plantation undergoing the enhanced movement control order (EMCO).
Of the 351 individuals, who were screened, 24 including the index case were positive while 327 individuals were still waiting their results. 23 new cases were also reported Tuesday (Aug 3).
All positive cases have been admitted to the Miri Hospital and the PKRC in Miri district for treatment and isolation.
The Jalan Kemena Industry Estate 38 cluster in Bintulu district is also a workplace cluster involving a workers’ quarters at a plywood factory undergoing EMCO at the Kemena Industry Estate, Jalan Tanjung Kidurong.
Of the 85 individuals, who were screened, 17 including the index case were positive while 68 were still waiting for their results. 18 new cases were reported today (Tuesday).
All positive cases were admitted to the Bintulu Hospital and the PKRC in the Bintulu district for treatment and isolation.
The SDMC also announced the end of the Jalan Tasik Biru By-Pass cluster in the Bau district because no new cases were detected or reported in the last 28 days.
The committee also said the Selangau district had turned orange after recording 22 local infection cases in the last two weeks.
