KUCHING: The third booster shot will be administered to the public starting from October, said the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) advisor Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian.

“We have instructed the Sarawak Covid-19 Advisory Group (Scovag) to begin investigating the scientific approach, with the aim that it would be ready for administration in October,” he said.

Apart from the third booster dose, SDMC and Scovag are working together to explore the best vaccine suitable for children under 18 years of age.

“SDMC is actively planning out all approaches and options that will then be thoroughly reviewed to ensure the safe delivery of the vaccination for children,” he said after officiating the handover ceremony of the Bantuan Khas Sarawakku Sayang (BKSS 6.0) at the Kenyalang market today.

Also present during the handover ceremony was Kuching South City Council (MBKS) mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng, Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) chairman Lo Khere Chiang and Ministry of Local Government and Housing health officer Billy Sujang.
