KUCHING: Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak (PBDS) wants to become a platform for Dayaks to fight for their rights.
Its secretary general Julius Enchana said the party was the best place for Dayak representatives as everyone would be treated equally.
“That is our principle, we treat everyone equally. No one is greater than the other and PBDS is the only true Dayak party in Malaysia,” he asserted.
Julius mentioned that PBDS was the only political party that genuinely talk about Dayak-related issues.
He added that the party had received some applications from certain persons and believed the party has potential candidates to contest in the coming state election.
“All the applications and candidacy must go through our supreme council and selection committee.
“We have our own election committee, but we cannot tell you right now. We will inform when we have finalised the candidates,” Julius explained.
He said the party would collaborate with other alliances in the coming state election should it benefit the Dayak community.
“Therefore, I encouraged Dayak politicians especially the aspiring young Dayaks to regroup in PBDS, take the struggle of the party seriously.
“We are not only a political party that you join during election, but we are a party that wish to see the Dayaks unite and grow politically and economically.”
