KUCHING: Twenty new localities in Sarawak have been placed under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO).
The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said the EMCO at Uma Bakah (Blok A, D, E, F, G, H, L, N, P, S, T, U and Rumah Persendirian), Sungai Asap was from Sept 4 until Sept 17 while the EMCO at Uma Kulit (Blok C) was effective from Sept 5 until Sept 18.
Two localities in the Belaga district, namely, Uma Kulit (Blok N) and Uma Badeng Sg Koyan (Blok A & F) and two localities in the Bintulu district, namely, Jade Garden & Joy Park and Everwin Workers Quarters were placed under the EMCO from Monday until Sept 19.
Meanwhile, the EMCO at seven longhouses, namely, Rumah Puin, Sg Kerubong Selalang in the Sarikei district; four longhouses in the Lubok Antu district — Rumah Embuas, Nanga Jengin, Skim Batang Ai; Rumah Entirong, Nanga Tutong, Skim Batang Ai; Rumah Meritian, Merindun and Rumah Dancon, Bua, Engkilili — as well as Rumah Sujang, Setubu in the Pakan district; and Rumah Dina, Ulu Lassi in the Julau district began Tuesday (Sept 7) and will last until Sept 20.
The EMCO at Kem Sumark Trading, Sg Sian, Bintangor in the Meradong district also began today and will last until Sept 20.
Three longhouses in the Betong district — Rumah Jonathan, Semumok Atas; Rumah Stephen Lambor, Jerai, Debak and Rumah Bayai, Melaban — will start their EMCO today until Sept 21.
From today until Sept 22, Rumah Daniel, Tingkat Atas, Roban in Kabong and Rumah Antas, Itop Asal, Awik as well as Rumah Beti, Ulu Awik (both in the Saratok district) will also be placed under the EMCO.
The SDMC today also announced the extension of the EMCO at six localities in the state.
The EMCO at Uma Lesong (Blok A, E and F), Sungai Asap in the Belaga district will be extended until Sept 12 while the EMCO at Rumah Machau, Nanga Kumpang, Engkilili in the Lubok Antu district will be extended until Sept 14.
Rumah Tunai, Nanga Bengap, Batang Ai in the Lubok Antu district will end its EMCO on Sept 16 while Rumah Jamit, Pudai in the same district as well as Rumah Angos, Kampung Nyelam and Rumah Hilary, Kampung Nyelam in the Sri Aman district will end their EMCO on Sept 21.
The SDMC today also announced the end of the EMCO in 16 localities.
Kampung Keniong Lama in the Simunjan district; Rumah Majeng, Kampung Po Ai in the Sri Aman district; Kampung Rayu Iban in the Lundu district; a rented room above Chicwan, Medan Jaya in the Bintulu district; Ladang SOP Sebungan in the Sebauh district; Rumah Ulen Segaya, Nanga Tekalit in the Tatau district along with three villages in Serian the district, namely, Kampung Sungai Duuh, Kampung Kakeng and Kampung Bunga ended their EMCO today.
The other villages in the Serian district which will end their EMCO today are Kampung Tanah Mawang A; Kampung Tanah Mawang B; Kampung Tanah Ensenbang Plaie A; Kampung Tanah Ensenbang Plaie B and Kampung Plaman Bantang.
The EMCO at Kem Tower 157&158/Base Camp (West Borneo Construction Sdn Bhd/Euromatec Sdn Bhd), Jln Hulu Engkamop in the Pakan district will also end today.
The SDMC today also announced that the Sebauh district had turned red after recording 45 local cases in the past two weeks.
The Julau district is now orange after recording 22 local cases in the past 14 days.
With that, Sarawak now has 33 red districts, three orange districts, three yellow districts and only one green district.
