SARIKEI: A total of 50 needy persons in Repok received food aid and essentials during the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) Ziarah Programme on Saturday (Sept 11).
The food aid was handed over by Repok assemblyman Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii to the 50 recipients consisting of persons with disabilities, senior citizens, and single mothers from Zones A, B, C, and D in the Repok area.
On Friday, Huang also contributed food aid to three longhouses in Sarikei which have been placed under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) effective Sept 9 to 22.
These longhouses are namely Rumah (Rh) Jalang Ulu Paoh involving 25 doors or 110 residents, Rh Johnny Ulu Paoh involving four doors or 30 residents, and Rh Runggah Nanga Garu involving three doors or 22 residents.
Huang was represented by Kapitan Ling Dien Yong in the delivery of the food aid to the affected longhouse residents.
