KUCHING: Selangau MP Baru Bian is miss the Parliament sitting which starts tomorrow because he tested positive for Covid-19.
In a statement issued on Sunday (Sept 12), Baru said he was asked to undergo quarantine until Sept 21.
“I was scheduled to fly to Kuala Lumpur from Kuching today (Sept 12) to attend the parliamentary sitting beginning tomorrow (Sept 13).
“However, I tested positive for Covid-19 on Friday night (Sept 10) when I underwent the mandatory RT-PCR test three days before the Parliament sitting,” he explained.
Baru added he was experiencing mild flu-like symptoms and had a slight fever on Friday which subsided overnight.
“I believe the vaccinations which I received some months ago have prevented a serious illness requiring hospitalisation.
“At the same time, I strongly urge those who have not been vaccinated to get the vaccine. It could save your life,” he said.
