KUCHING: Starting yesterday (Sept 19), the issuance centre for quarantine release letters (Release Orders) and the cutting of the surveillance bracelets was moved from Dewan Suarah Miri to Miri Open Stadium (Miri Outdoor Stadium).
According to the Miri Divisional Disaster Management Committee (DDMC), members of the public who have completed their 10-day quarantine period can come to the Miri Open Stadium for a quarantine clearance letter and a cutting of the surveillance bracelet.
“For the convenience of the public, the operations will be conducted through a drive-through and during the operations, the public have to follow the instructions of the members on duty for a swift flow of the process,” it said in a statement yesterday Sunday (Sept 19).
“Starting on Monday to Thursday, the operations will run from 8.30am to 12.30pm for the first slot, 2pm to 4pm for the second slot, with a break between 12.30pm and 2pm.
“On Friday, the operations will run from 8.30am to 11.45am for the first slot and from 2.15pm to 4pm for the second slot, with a break between 11.45am and 2.15pm.
“On weekends and public holidays, the operations will run from 8.30am to 12.30 pm,” said the committee.
The Miri DDMC also revealed the relocation of the Covid-19 Assessment Centre (Covid-19 Assessment Centre) from the Miri Open Stadium (Miri Outdoor Stadium) to Dewan Suarah Miri on September 20.
“Individuals who test positive for Covid-19 and are deemed suitable for isolation and self-monitoring will be scheduled for a Covid-19 Assessment Centre session.
“In the absence of an appointment, individuals who are confirmed positive are urged not to come to the Covid-19 Assessment Centre to reduce congestion,” it said,
It added those confirmed positive for Covid-19 would be re-evaluated at the Covid-19 Assessment Centre to determine whether they are suitable for home monitoring or require hospitalisation or isolation at the low-Risk Covid-19 Quarantine and Treatment Centres (PKRC).
“During the quarantine period, the progress of positively confirmed individuals who are at home will be monitored, and if necessary, coordination of their referral to the hospital or PKRC will be made,” it added.
On the operating hours of the Covid-19 Assessment Centre at Dewan Suarah, Miri, it said, “From Monday to Sunday and including public holidays, the operations will start from 8am to 5pm with breaks on Monday to Thursday at 1pm to 2pm, Friday at 11.45am to 2:15pm and 1pm to 2pm on weekends. “
At the moment, Miri has three facilities used for the management of Covid-19, namely, the Miri Indoor Stadium, Miri Open Stadium, and Dewan Suarah, Miri while the Miri Indoor Stadium still serves as a centre for sampling, issuing quarantine orders and surveillance bracelets.
