MIRI: An Indonesian man died after the motorcycle that he was riding on crashed into a barrier at the gate of an oil palm plantation in Logan Bunut last Saturday evening.

According to Sarawak Traffic Investigation and Enforcement chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu in a statement on Monday (Sept 27), the deceased identified as Ahmad Yani Jumaleng, 43, failed to notice that the barrier gate at the plantation was closed when he reached the area around 6.30pm.

Prior to the accident, he was heading towards the workers’ quarters.

“He was rushed to Long Lama Health Clinic and pronounced dead by medical personnel,” said Alexson.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
