MIRI: The Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) here donated 300 boxes of face masks to Miri People’s Volunteer Corps (Rela) personnel on Thursday (Sept 30).

The contribution was to help ease the burden faced by the Rela members as well as a sign of gratitude for their sacrifices in combating Covid-19.

The boxes of face masks were presented to Miri Rela officer Mohamad Afizi Salam by Miri City Council Cr Vincent Huang Huat Choon, on behalf of Miri mayor Adam Yii.

“Congratulation to Miri Ukas for successfully conducting the ‘Ziarah Semarak Kemerdekaan’ programme to appreciate the services and sacrifices of the Miri Rela officers in assisting the government in combating the spread of Covid-19. I hope that this programme will continue in the future,” said Huang.

Mohamad Afizi also expressed his gratitude towards Miri Ukas for the contribution.

“Thank you for inviting Miri Rela to be part of the programme.

“The face masks will surely be useful for the personnel on duty wherever they may be. Our work will be safer with this donation,” he said.
