SIBU: The Veteran Affairs Department of the Malaysian Armed Forces (JHEV) Sarawak Chapter distributed 100 packets of food to needy members recently.
Its director Maj Pahot Joll officiated at the distribution ceremony held at the D’Simpang Cafe, Kampung Hilir here.
He said the food assistance was under the Ministry of Defence’s Caring Malaysia programme.
“They are meant for needy veterans who have been identified in surrounding areas here, Matu, Dato and Mukah.”
Also present to assist in the distribution of the food packets was Sarawak Armed Forces Veteran Association president Francis Yeo.
