KUCHING: Sarawak recorded 12 new Covid-19 deaths on Sunday (Oct 3).
The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said that seven of the dead were female patients and the other five were male patients.
“There were three brought-in-dead (BID) cases comprising females from Kapit, Kuching and Bintulu.
“Miri accounted for two of the latest deaths, Sarikei one case while Miri and Sibu reported three cases respectively.”
The committee reported most of the dead were between the ages of 39 and 88 with high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity, chronic kidney disease, dyslipidaemia or heart disease.
The SDMC also announced the imposition of the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) at five new localities in the state.
It said that Rumah Chaong, Baloi, Skim Skang in the Lubuk Antu district was placed under the EMCO from Oct 2 until Oct 11.
Meanwhile starting Monday (Oct 4) until Oct 13, Rumah Sondai, Kampung Terimah Lubai in the Limbang district will be undergoing the EMCO while two localities in the Betong district will also be placed under the EMCO from Tuesday until Oct 14.
“The EMCO will be imposed at Ladang Senandung Masyhur Sdn Bhd, Jalan Matu – Igan from Oct 5 until Oct 14,” said the SDMC.
It also declared the end of the EMCO at 18 localities in the state.
“In the Sri Aman district, the EMCO at Rumah Tini Rijan, Munggu Ruan, Udop; Rumah Dunggau, Gayau Ulu, Pantu; Rumah Maureen, Kara Begunan, Pantu; Rumah Winston Mupit, Sungai Besai, Pantu; Rumah Unggin, Kara Tinting Jagu, Pantu and Rumah Jatin, Jengok, Pantu ended on Oct 2,” it said.
Meanwhile, in the Miri district, the EMCO at USMP Industries Sdn Bhd Lot 1528-1529, Permy Technology Park, Jalan Tudan and at Bandar Baru Permyjaya ended on Oct 3.
On that day, in the Subis district, the EMCO also ended at Rumah Mokeng Tambom, Gudang Tengah while in the Betong district, the EMCO ended at Rumah Garak, Munggu Menggeris, Debak; Rumah Mau, Enteban Ulu and Rumah Agan, Mupoh Atas.
On Oct 3, in the Kabong district, the EMCO at Rumah Sati, Sungai Pitos, Kop Ibus, Roban also ended.
In the Sarikei district, on that day, the EMCO at Rumah Jamu, Peligong, Sebetan and Rumah Untan, Tanjung Sikup, Melupa was also lifted.
In the Bintulu district, Rumah Regina, Sg Kawan Rumah Achoi Jampung, Batu 18 and Rumah Lang Baja, Batu 18, the EMCO also ended on Oct 3.
“For Rumah Malang, Nanga Semarau, Ulu Merurun in the Julau district, the EMCO will end on Oct 4,” said the SDMC.
