KUCHING: Urban Development and Natural Resources Assistant Minister Datuk Len Talif Salleh has described the 2022 State Budget as an improvement from this year’s budget.

In lauding the just announced budget, he said that the budget for next year introduces additional assistance as well as providing new assistance.

“The thrust of the 2022 State Budget with an allocation of RM10.646 billion is focused on the global and domestic economic situation with the theme ‘United in Building a Resilient, Inclusive and Progressive Society’.

“This can be seen as in previous years giving emphasis on rural development,” he said in a Facebook post on Tuesday (Oct 12).

At the special meeting on the 2022 State Budget with Sarawakian lawmakers at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) yesterday, Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg announced that Sarawak had allocated RM10.646 billion for the 2022 State Budget.

He said that RM4.046 billion will be for operating expenditure, and RM6.6 billion will be appropriated to the Development Fund Account to finance the implementation of various development programmes and projects.
