KUCHING: Three Covid-19 clusters, namely Sega Cluster and Sebobok Cluster in Bau, and Andi Liam Cluster in Beluru have come to an end after recording no new cases in the past 28 days.
Sarawak now has 63 active clusters, in which seven recorded 13 new cases.
Meanwhile, Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said 1,061 new cases were recorded on Thursday (Oct 14), a slight drop from the previous day’s number of 1,165.
SDMC said 1,041 or 98.11 per cent of the new cases were Category 1 and 2, while 20 or 1.89 per cent were Category 3, 4 and 5.
Kuching District reported the most cases numbering 278 followed by Miri (235); Sibu (155); Bintulu (56); Betong and Pusa (37 each); Serian (35); Limbang (28); Sri Aman (27); Saratok (19); Sarikei and Lawas (14 each); and Subis (13 ).
Twelve new cases were each reported in Kapit, Bau, and Song; followed by Samarahan (11); and Belaga (six).
Five new cases were each reported in Mukah, Tebedu, Pakan, Kanowit, and Marudi; four cases each in Meradong, Sebauh, Lubok Antu; three cases each in Simunjan, Lundu, Matu, Beluru, Bukit Mabong; two cases each in Julau, Tatau, and Selangau; and one case each in Asajaya and Kabong.
This brings the cumulative cases in the state to 228,736.
SDMC also said Rumah Sigan, Pelo, Skrang in Lubok Antu District began enhanced movement control order (EMCO) on Thursday, and would do so until Oct 23.
It added that EMCO had ended in 10 localities statewide.
