KUCHING: Sarawak head coach, Ian Gillan disclosed that his players are in high spirit despite going through the rest period. “The players are more enthusiastic during the current training session, and it’s a positive sign for them to prepare for the next game,” Gillan said.
The squad are now focused on their day-to-day training after the Malaysia League 2018 matches are put on hold to give way to the FA Cup campaign and international friendly matches involving the national squad.
Meanwhile, the match between Sarawak and MISCMIFA at the State Stadium scheduled for March 30 has been postponed to a new date.
When asked if his side would hold some friendly matches to test the team capabilities after a friendly match with Persebaya Surabaya on March 18 in Indonesia, Gillan said they do have the plans .
He said everything has yet to be finalised because it might clash with the latest amended schedule from Malaysia’s Limited Liability Partnership Football (FMLLP). “The plan to hold a friendly match is there, but it has not been finalised,” he said.
