KUCHING: The Kuching FA squad continue their domination at the top in Group A of the FAM Cup 2018 by collecting seven points from two wins and one draw after three matches so far. Their nearest rivals, ATM are second with six points from one win and four draws from four games. Third are Selangor United with six points from two wins and one lost after three games.
MOF team were fourth with five points, followed by Shahzan Muda FC fifth on four points both teams from three games so far.
For newcomers, MPKB BRIUBES FC are in sixth place with four points and also through four games. In seventh spot are KSDBKL team without any points after losing all four games. Kuching FA coach Shahrizan Sahari said: “It’s a temporary situation.
More importantly is that the top position must be maintained and this is our best chance to continue dominating our rivals in Group A,” he said.
Shahrizan urged his players not to lose any point that would allow their rivals to intercept their team’s position. The Kuching FA squad kept their unbeaten record after three matches.
They overcame MPKB BRI-UBES FC 2-1 away and beat Selangor United 2-1 at State Stadium, Petra Jaya in the second match followed by a goalless draw against ATM at Mindef Stadium, Kuala Lumpur on March 18. Their next match will be against Shahzan Muda FC at the State Stadium, Petra Jaya on April 1. – By Faizal Bujang
