KUCHING: People have to be professional and mature in accepting the various differences among each other in order to come together and bring Sarawak and Malaysia to greater heights.
Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development Minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah emphasised that differences in race, religion, political ideologies and views should not separate the people.
“In the context of different political affiliations and different views, we have to be very professional. Let us move forward together. Let us rise together to bring us to a better position than where we are now,” said the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Women chief.
She said this when sharing her views on the ‘Keluarga Malaysia’ concept during a press conference following a presentation of citizenship application result letters at Bangunan Sultan Iskandar here on Friday (Oct 22).
She opined that under the ‘Keluarga Malaysia’ concept, togetherness and unity were vital.
She stressed that togetherness and unity would allow the people and nation to move forward and recover, especially after the Covid-19 pandemic.
“So with the concept of unity, we may differ in terms of our views and opinions, but we must look at the biggeer picture. Look at the forest, don’t just look at the tree.
“This will enable us to develop our family, our country, so that we can achieve progress and prosperity together,” said Fatimah.
