KUCHING: The passing of Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Dr James Jemut Masing on Sunday (Oct 31) morning is a great loss for Sarawak.
Welfare, Community Well-being, Women, Family and Childhood Development Minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah said, “It is indeed with great sadness that we heard Masing had passed away. It was really a surprise for me.
“We knew that he had heart problem and was not well and we prayed hard for him to get through,” she said.
Fatimah described Masing as a veteran politician who had contributed a lot to Sarawak and held various ministerial positions in the state government.
“It is also a great loss especially for Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) members and the people in his constituency,” she dded.
“I would like to express my condolences to his family, We pray that his family and his wife as well as his relatives will stay strong.
“We also pray that his party members as well as the community and the supporters in his constituency will remain strong and continue to support the party. I am sure he would want that,” she added.
