KUCHING: Sarawak recorded 528 new Covid-19 cases today (Nov 2), a slight increase compared to the previous day’s 478.
The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said 517 of the total number of cases comprised Categories 1 and 2, while 11 were Categories 3, 4 and 5.
Kuching accounted for the highest number of cases at 174 followed by Miri (95), Sibu (61), Bintulu (34), Limbang (24), Dalat (23), Lawas (22), Serian (13), Mukah (10), seven each in Sarikei and Subis, and Kapit (six).
Four new cases were each reported in Sri Aman, Samarahan, Song, Meradong, Kanowit, Kabong and Lubok Antu; three each in Betong and Bau; and two each in Saratok, Pusa, Lundu, Selangau, Belaga, Asajaya, Julau and Beluru.
Tebedu and Bukit Mabong recorded one case each. This brings the cumulative cases in the state to 242,052.
Meanwhile, SDMC also declared 19 fatalities from Oct 29 to Nov 1.
“The deaths consist of victims aged between 29 and 95 years old from Miri, Kuching, Limbang, Sibu, Betong and Mukah,” it said.
The committee also announced the lifting of the enhanced movement control order at Rumah Mullok, Lempa Antu in Pakan on Tuesday (Nov 2).
