KUCHING: Sarawak experienced a slight increase in Covid-19 infections on Thursday (Nov 18), clocking 311 cases compared to the previous day’s 300, bringing the overall tally to 248,544.
Of the 311, 301 cases were Categories 1 and 2 while the rest were Categories 3, 4 and 5.
The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) also revealed that there were nine fatalities that occurred on Nov 12, 13, 15, 16 and 17.
“Of the nine fatalities, four were brought-in dead (BID) cases. The fatalities consist of those aged between 59 and 91 from Limbang, Mukah, Sibu, Sarikei and Kuching.”
SDMC also announced the end of two clusters, namely Pinang Jawa and Giam, both in Kuching, after no new cases were detected in the past 28 days.
Sarawak now has six active clusters left and they did not record any new cases.
“Kuching recorded 112 cases while Miri recorded 39, followed by Serian (19), Sibu (18), Bintulu (18), Lawas (14), Betong (13), Limbang (13), and Mukah and Samarahan each recorded eight.
“There are seven cases in Sri Aman, six in Pusa, Sarikei, Simunjan and Bau each has five, Lundu and Subis each has three, two cases each in Meradong, Pakan and Selangau, and one case each in Belaga, Saratok, Kapit, Dalat, Matu, Telang Usan, Kanowit, Beluru and Kabong.”
