KUCHING: The live virtual Sarawak International Festival of Music and Arts (Sifma 2.0) is happening this Sunday (Nov 21) from 5pm to 7pm. All are welcome to be a part of this community festival to revive the local music scene.

The event will feature top performers from various parts of the world, including Sarawak.

Those interested in experiencing the event in a physical space can select from the following locations: Plaza Merdeka Mall, La Promenade Mall, Aeon Mall, Biddy’s Café, The Junk Mini Bazaar, Grand Margherita Hotel, The Waterfront Hotel, UCSI Hotel, Commons, Grandma Handmade Noodles Bak Kut Teh, Megalanes Sarawak, Outright Coffee Sibu, or Coco Cabana Miri.

Participants can also enjoy food and crafts from vendors while they watch Sifma at home.

Organised by International Music House Kuching (IMH) and sponsored by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture Sarawak (MTAC), the virtual event on Nov 21 will be live-streamed at different locations not just within Sarawak but Malaysia and the rest of the world as well, via its venue partners and vendors.

This will help to attract the masses and generate revenue for them.

Additionally, it will bring the rest of the world to Sarawak, featuring top performers of music and dance, including the renowned Bolshoi Ballet dancers from Russia; award-winning conductor of the Suc Song Moi Ensemble, Quang Vinh Dong; singers from the National University of Singapore (NUS); the Visayan cultural troupe from the Philippines, and more.

Among the performers from Sarawak are the Sarawak Chinese Ensemble, Karya Terindah Performing Arts, Dolce Chanticleer, Zephyr, Kuching Wushu Association, IMH Ethnica Orchestra, the Sarawak State Symphony Orchestra (SONS), and La Danse studio.

Among Sifma’s highlights is the ongoing forum called ‘Let’s Talk’, featuring inspirational stories and advice from professionals and enthusiasts within the music and arts community.

There will be a special feature screening at the official Facebook page (@sifmaofficial) on Saturday (Nov 20) at 7.30pm.
