MUKAH: Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) can win two-thirds majority in the upcoming 12th state election (PRN12).
Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu deputy president Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan said it is crucial for Sarawak to progress so that the people could live in prosperity, especially in the post-Covid-19 period.
“I hope we continue to work together to ensure that our state will continue to be ruled by our people through GPS, led by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg,” he said after visiting the Matedeng Administrative centre project site at Medan Selera Matedeng here on Sunday (Nov 21).
He said the GPS party platform was established after the coalition members left Barisan Nasional and assured that the struggle to obtain state rights and interests as enshrined in the Malaysia Agreement 1963 would be pursued.
He is also confident that GPS would win big in the state constituencies of Tellian and Balingian in the upcoming election (PRN12).
“These constituencies are our stronghold and the strength of the PBB all this while is the result of support by the people at the village level and at the grassroots up to the professional level.”
The Deputy Chief Minister is confident that no matter what the challenges are, strong cooperation would continue to exist as long as GPS governs Sarawak.
“Put aside any issues of personal interest and self-hatred. The important thing in this state election is to form a government and this government will determine the future of Sarawak.
“We know that many new parties will emerge, various incitements will be heard, some will fabricate matters with the use of social media.
“Nonetheless, the important thing we must emphasise is the struggle to uphold the peace and harmony in our state so that it will continue to develop, and its people continue to be taken care of in terms of their welfare,” he added.
