KOTA PADAWAN: Some 132 villagers in Kampung Punau, Padawan have received the Covid-19 booster dose.

The vaccination programme was organised by Bunuk Health Clinic for the first phase at Kampung Punau multipurpose hall, on Saturday (Nov 27).

Transport Assistant Minister and Mambong incumbent Datuk Dr Jerip Susil was also present to observe the programme while visiting a project site and handing out food baskets to the villagers.

“The vaccination programme is an outreach programme in Kampung Punau by the health clinic to administer the third dose or booster dose for the villagers here.

“There are some who will receive the dose later at the health clinic or they can wait and go on the second phase of the programme,” said Dr Jerip.

According to the medical staff there, the numbers of people receiving the booster dose were limited to 150, and the programme would also be extended to other villages, namely Kampung Bunuk and Kampung Giam.

The medical staff also informed that the vaccination programme in Kampung Punau would proceed to the second phase in early Dec.

Later Dr Jerip handed out food baskets to five villagers affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, who were sick, disabled and poor.

Dr Jerip also visited a project site, which is the village’s river protection bank costing about RM700,000.

“The project has been completed but it is still not enough. We will see that this project will be done nicely.

“Other than that, I have also talked to the villagers concerning how they feel about the service of their representative.

“Their responses were positive, saying that a lot of development has been done in Kampung Punau, thanks to the hardworking village head and committee members.

“Hence, I am able to say that a lot of development is being delivered through them to the villagers,” he commended.
